Centre Archéologique Frédéric Hermet

On the first floor, presentation of the material collected in the Gallo-Roman vicus of La Vayssière (L’Hospitalet-du-Larzac) and particularly in the 220 tombs of its necropolis. These objects testify to a rich agricultural and pastoral activity, but also artisanal and commercial since the village was installed on the great Roman road that crosses the Larzac.

On the second floor, a very rich collection of fossils from the secondary era, when a large part of the Causses was a sea. Remarkable dinosaur footprints.

In July and August, commentated visits of the center are proposed every day from 3 pm to 7 pm. The rest of the year visits by reservation.
